Nightclubs, discos, clubs and bars

The largest Croatian city on the Adriatic coast and never sleeps, especially during the long summer season when locals and foreigners drink and dance until the little hours. Hedonistic party gurus, wealthy travellers as well as student backpackers visit Split, attracted by the Blue Adriatic, the beautiful coastal mountains and last but not least: its happening nightlife. Not rarely you will notice private parties taking place on the beach long after the last club has closed its doors. The two key spots of Split’s nightlife scene are Diocletian's Palace and the Bacvice Beach complex, some kilometres in eastern direction. In the centre of town, within the ancient walls of Diocletian’s Palace (a World Heritage site) you will find have a large en diverse offer of bars and cafes, permanently adapting to the latest trends. Most cafés have spread their outdoor terraces until or even on the water of the Riva like the popular bar ST-Riva which offers the best seats on the first floor balcony where you have magnificent view over the Riva.
 
Within 100 meters from the Riva you will find three popular bars: Puls, Fluid and Ghetto Club. Those bars and the narrow street in front of them are always busy and make excellent starting points when exploring Split’s pulsing nightlife. The charming small bar Puls on Buvinina 1 is always packed and provides great opportunities to socialize with the locals. On Friday there is usually live music meanwhile Saturdays evenings are reserved for disco. A similar ambiance and audience can be found in the small bar Fluid, nearby Puls. The arty-designed Ghetto Club tucked in a courtyard of the Palace (Dosud) is the favourite hangout of the trendy crowd in Split. Ghetto Club has often live music performances and parties on offer but is also a great place for relaxing and intimate moments in a laidback ambiance. Near the Palace on the large square you will find the Red Room (Carrarina Poljana 4) where the dance floor is frequented by Split’s pretty young things. If you do not feel like dancing you can have a sit in one of the comfortable sofas and watch the party scene.  Another hot spot for Split’s youngsters is Café Shook on Mihovilova Širinat Other hip spots in Split are Bifora (Poljana Stare Gimnazije, corner Bernadov prilaz), bar Gaga and Planet Jazz (Grigura Ninskog 3). Hemingway Bar Split is the Split branch of the Hemingway clubs, which also can be found in Zagreb, Rijeka and Opatija and Rijeka. Hemmingway is the most exclusive club in town. The outside area is directly at the water and house VIP lounges and the longest bar in Split. During summer Hemmingway has many interesting international DJs and bands on the flyer. In Le Porta (Majstora Jurja) you will be surrounded by beautiful local ladies sipping the best cocktails in town.
 
From the Bacvice complex you can overlook the Bacvice beach and stroll along a long strip of great restaurants, bars and clubs. At Bacvice, Tropic Club Equador attracts the local rich and beautiful and provides excellent views over the beach. Tribu (Mediteranskih igara 3) is another ultra hip club where people come to see and be seen. Club Bačvice offers pulsating techno beats and cave dancers and is extremely popular with young ravers. For rock music and live performances you should head to O’Hara which is located in the second bay after Bačvice (Zenta 3, Firule).
 
Guru is on the favorites of hedonistic party lovers and a must-visit when you like being surround by the finest selection of Split’s ladies. You can find trendy disco 5km west of town along the coast. Another large and popular disco outside the city centre is Vanilla Club, situated behind the Poljud Stadium.
