Plovdiv nightlife guide
Nightclubs, discos, clubs and bars
One the favourite hangouts of the party minded young crowd in Plovdiv is the stylish club Brilliantine, part of a chain which also has clubs in Sofia (underneath the Lion Hotel) and Burgas. They have a strict door policy and it is strongly recommended to make reservation in advance. Plovdiv’s longest running club is Paparazi on Maria Luiza boulevard 43. Paparazi has three big dance areas dedicated to house, hip hop and Chalga. Chalga is usually also on the menu in Enjoy Club 69. This club on Evlogi Giorgiev street 1 is very popular with student and the local wannabe Mafiosi and their gorgeous girlfriends. Plazma is Plovdiv’s temple for house worshippers and has often interesting DJs on the flyer. The club is located near the railway station on Botev street 82. The crowd chilling out to the house tunes in Plazma is cheerful and outgoing and includes many gorgeous local girls. The club has a very stylish interior with detached, island-like bars placed in a sea of cream-and-black décor. On Maria Luisa boulevard 15 is the stylish club Art Bar Maria Luisa which has a very laid back atmosphere. Gepi on Lady Strangford street 5 has an underground light atmosphere and wide offer of live concerts of varied acts like jazz, salsa, hip hop and rock. Other popular spots for late night birds in Plovdiv are Zanzibar and Plazma.
